the career

maybe sliding into home was a little premature. i still have a couple weeks left, final paper due tuesday, research proposal due next week, and maybe three or so final exams. thinking about getting another job this summer. ideally i'd like to work at the hollywood video a block from our house. how fun would that be? easy too. thinking also about law school alternatives. i really think that i'm an incredible driver. i really think i can out-drive most everyone i know. there are few things that i pride myself on, however one of my biggest talents is driving. i know it sounds strange since it's not difficult to be a good driver, but i am exception. i'm actually surprised that driving is a skill than the entire population is capable of doing. but there are times when i even surprise myself with my awesomeness. go on and scoff, that's fine with me. but take me on and you're toast. so maybe i could be a stunt driver in movies. how does one become a stunt driver? i'm not white-trash enough to drive nascar. plus i couldn't tell you the first thing about what's under the hood of a car. taking after my hero costanza, i love movies and i bet being a projectionist would be fun. the only problem is that they probably get paid only slightly more than the 15 year old popcorn makers. and are projectionists really union jobs? of course these are all retarded dreams and i'll probably just end up being a hollywood video manager forever.

kim and i had the pleasure of seeing the utah jazz play the trailblazers this past weekend. we had a good time and for once we actually got to see the jazz win a game. tough feat considering the trailblazers are the worst team in the nba right now. but they were decent seats and free from her work which is always nice. and how can they charge these prices? they were decent seats, but nothing spectacular. who is paying $100 a ticket to see the jazz play? the jazz are terrible. matt harping isn't that bad though. but still, it's the jazz. it was nice to get out of the house this weekend though. we have tickets for next week too. this time we'll get to see golden state, who happen to be better than only one team in their conference; yes, the trailblazers. they may all suck, but they are getting paid more than i ever will in a year.

so they made the contestants lay in this open grave looking thing and then three huge buckets of scorpions were dumped all over them. you had to lay there for like two minutes and try and transfer the scorpions to another hole using this crane straight out of the toy machine at dennys. out of the three remaining peeps, the first chick gave up right away because they started crawling on her face. she was also wearing shorts and a short sleeve shirt i think. she totally got gypped because the next guy didn't get any scorpions poured around his head at all. and he was wearing freaking jeans. so he made it and the final girl just gave up. it was pretty gruesome but totally unfair to the first chick since she was the only one to get them dumped on her head. i was pretty pissed and disappointed, but what can you do? i wanted to write on joe's myspace about it, but like he would give a shit. and frankly i can't believe that i give a shit enough to take up this much space on my own blog to write about it. you just had to be there.

so the last time i was at the theater they had an advertisement/trailer for a drum corps thing coming up on april 27 (thursday). at certain movie theaters they are playing some movie thing on dci and its past forty years. dci is basically as good as you can get when it comes to marching band. it's so freaking rad. yeah this sounds about as nerdy as they come and there are some among us who may think they are too cool for it now, but deep inside they still want it. so everyone should try and see it. here's the link: http://bigscreenconcerts.com/subpage/index.asp?EventID=574. it will be playing all over cali, including irvine and the frez. d-town folks can catch it at the denver pavilions on 16th street and losers in utah have provo and west jordan. again, april 27, a thursday, a good time to get your asses out and actually do something for once. we can all stare in awe as they do stuff we were all too crappy to do ourselves. take the kids, wait, don't take the kids. take a hot date, sneak in some liquor and m&m's, and have a blast. blast is also pretty sweet, but that's not playing that night. seriously, what are you doing thursday night anyways? going to bed early for work the next morning? screw work.

also playing pretty soon will be probably the top three blockbusters of the year: pirates of caribbean, which i won't be seeing, x-men 3, and mission impossible 3, which i also won't be seeing. x-men looks pretty freaking amazing and should be seen by all. kim's fam is coming soon. looking forward to that. that is all for now.
